New Code for trade mark attorneys
The Professional Standards Board for Patent and Trade Marks Attorneys (the PSB), which is the government body charged with regulating our profession, has recently undertaken a major review of its Code of Conduct for attorneys. The Code makes significant changes to the way in which patent attorneys and trade marks attorney can run their businesses, in particular the Act now allows for companies to practise as registered patent and/or trade mark attorneys. The Code was also updated to clarify the behaviour and conduct expected of registered attorneys.
